Therapy in nature - walk n' talk and outdoor sessions, when it fits.
Nature is an important part of how I understand well-being, connection, and change. For some people, being outdoors, or simply moving gently alongside another person, can create a different kind of space for reflection.
When it feels appropriate for our work and is of
interest to you, therapy may include nature-
connected practices, either woven into our work together or through walk n' talk and other outdoor sessions at selected Eastside locations. These experiences offer opportunities to slow down, pay attention, connect with the body and surroundings, and experience the simple joy of recognizing, and perhaps rediscovering, ourselves as part of the greater, connected whole.
Nature-based therapy is not a hike or fitness program. It is psychotherapy that sometimes takes place outdoors. We may walk, sit, pause, notice, or use the natural environment as a gentle support for paying attention to what is happening within you.
Sometimes a change of setting creates a little more room to notice. The pace of walking (or rolling), the presence of trees or water, fresh air, changing light, and the simple experience of being outdoors can support reflection in a different way. We do not have to make nature mean anything in particular. It can simply be part of the space in which we talk, pause, and pay attention.
For some people, being outdoors makes it easier to speak freely, approach difficult feelings with a little more space, or simply experience therapy differently. Others prefer office-based or online therapy. There is no "better" choice - only what feels useful, comfortable, and right for you.
